CURED CUISINE
Eola Hills Pinot Gris 2011
Bergamot scented Granny Smith apples, comes to my mind immediately when asked to describe this Pinot Gris, gripping mid palate establishes a base, and it grows from there with a roundness from the residual sweetness, and fades to a bright and clean finish, I find literally refreshing. It is like apple juice blended with tea, with the added benefit of alcohol. This Pinot Gris was made exclusively from estate grown grapes.
Eola Hills Pinot Noir 2011
A balance of fruit and toasted oak Ripe berries and cherries mingle with the soft supple texture of wine aged in a combination of American and French oak barrels. Well rounded mouth feel and smooth finish, complete the palate of this wine. Another grand Pinot from Eola Hills Wine Cellars.
Tom Huggins, founder and general manager of Eola Hills, had a dream rooted in facts. He knew that great wines could only come from great vineyards, and through his former occupation as a agricultural insurance expert, he knew where that precious vineyard land was located. This knowledge enabled him to purchase some of the prime sites for his own vineyards in the rolling terrain of the Northwest Willamette Valley in Oregon wine country, and to fulfill a dream of creating his own wine.
